Formed in 1989, the New Mexico Community Development Loan Fund is a private, tax-exempt organization that provides loans, training and business consulting to entrepreneurs, business owners and non-profit organizations throughout the state and the entire Navajo Nation. Our services support the efforts of low-income individuals and their communities to achieve self-reliance and control over their economic destinies. The Loan Fund has successfully assisted hundreds of small business owners and non-profit organizations over the years.

SCORE, the nation’s largest volunteer business counseling service, is a nonprofit association dedicated to help those in business, about to start one, or just thinking about it. Founded in 1964, SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration. If you’re in business and need assistance with a problem, expansion, or downsizing, we can help.
If you’re starting, selling, or buying a business; we can guide you through the steps necessary to achieve your goals. If you just need someone to talk to, we’re objective and confidential listeners and advisors. Our members are professional men and women who possess a wide variety of experience and are happy to share their expertise with you.

This site highlights our services including training classes on topics ranging from writing a business plan to website marketing. You'll also find free small business information and tips to help you start or grow a successful business. 8   Link   The UNM Law Clinic
The University of New Mexico School of Law's Clinical Law Program is nationally recognized as one of the best in the United States. More than a clinic, it is one of New Mexico's largest law firms and serves a broad spectrum of low-income clients. Clinical education has been an essential component of the school's curriculum since 1970, and the school remains at the forefront of developing programs in practical lawyering skills. Through the clinic requirement, students are ensured a solid background in professional skills, values and practices as they develop into practicing lawyers.
9   Link   South Valley Small Business Development Center
South Valley Small Business Development Center (South Valley SBDC), a quasi governmental agency funded by your tax dollars to provide small business consulting services in the areas of loan packaging (including SBA products), business plans, marketing assistance, demographic research, internet access and much more.
Our goal is to assist people in starting a business, and for those already in business, assist them in management and growth plans. The South Valley SBDC also has a resource library and Internet access at your disposal. We offer an orientation workshop for start-up businesses as well as a variety of different workshops during the year. If you would like to attend our orientation class or make an appointment with our counselors, please call us at (505) 248-0132. All of our services provided at no charge to our clients.

South Valley EDC

The South Valley Economic Development Center is a collaborative effort between Bernalillo County and the Rio Grande Community Development Corporation. The SVEDC serves as both the business incubator for clients located in the building and commercial kitchen users, and as an economic development catalyst for the unincorporated area of the South Valley.

The 15,000 square foot Center supports local growers and business by providing a site for manufacturing and establishing networks among businesses, growers, distributors and retailers. It also provides technical assistance in the development of small business and educational and media campaigns.
