Program Description

The South Valley Economic Development Center is an information hub for our community members who have existing or emerging new businesses. Through our trainings, facility, and assistance from our partner organizations, we give entrepreneurs a unique advantage in the first few years of business. Alongside of that we offer a full-time business consultant to help assist with growth, operations, and strategy needs. We support clients with month-to-month check-ins alongside a road-map to help their success be at its highest level. The road map is tailored to the individual’s needs and their business’s needs.

FAQs

How long does the General Business Incubation Program last?

Clients can participate in the General Business Incubation Program for up to five years, though most businesses are launching within the first two to three years.

How much does the General Business Incubation Program cost?

The actual cost of the program is $1,100 for a month; however, this cost is subsidized by the support of several individuals, organizations, foundations and institutions. The SVEDC will incrementally decrease the subsidized cost of the program to ensure that the entrepreneur can continue their business once they graduate from the SVEDC’s Incubation Program.

There is an additional monthly fee of $2.50 sq/ft for office space rental, which includes utilities, internet, telephone, and cleaning services.

*An additional subsidy could be applied (depending on availability) to those earning a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. (The Federal Poverty Guidelines are used as a guideline only. SVEDC programs are not a federal or state program.)

What equipment & facility spaces are available to General Business Incubation clients?

In addition to the guidance, equipment & facility spaces listed in the Resources section above, we offer office space rental, which includes utilities, internet, telephone, and cleaning services. Our office space ranges from 120 sq. ft. to 500 sq. ft.

What is the General Business Incubation Program capacity?

We can support 12 businesses at any given time (as a business completes the program, we can take in a new one). Please contact Client Services at (505) 877-0373 to inquire about program availability.
